Mission Statement
We, Team A.I.T., a group of 14 girls who are passionate about creating change in our own community, are Hosting free workshops that teach young adults essential life skills. We are also filming How-to videos offering tips. Team A.I.T. aims to provide a plethora of information on categories from baking to financial literacy, that is Easily accessible to the community through workshops and our website. We decided to focus in on adulting and life skills because we noticed that not that many people were familiar with the knowledge for adult life. We promote these workshops Through Advertisements around culver high school, Morning ANNOUNCEMENTS, and through social media. Our team hopes to teach new life skills that will better prepare young adults for the life ahead of them.
Team A.I.T. has decided to host workshops that focus on teaching life skills to teenagers and young adults. Too often, those who live on their own or in dorms struggle because they lack skills to help them function independently. Many young adults turn to easily accessible food such as frozen pizza or Cup of Noodles, hindering their overall health. In addition, young adults are likely to be in situations they are not prepared for, like getting a flat tire, yet having no knowledge on how to change it. Teenagers, soon to be independent adults, do not engage in activities or are taught necessary life skills before heading off on their own, and this can be problematic. Those who are unprepared for adulthood will eventually run into more problems than they could possibly handle, not fully enjoying the benefits of being an independent individual. Therefore, to minimize future stress and complications, Team A.I.T. plans to prepare teenagers for adulthood with workshops, videos, and blogs that revolve around life skills.

Focus Group Feb. 27th - CPR Crash Course Mar. 9th - A.I.T. team In-School Retreat Mar. 14th - Financial Literacy Pt.1 Mar. 20th - Mayor's Luncheon Mar. 21st - Financial Literacy Pt. 2 Mar. 26th - Baking 101 part 1 and 2 Apr. 12th - Interview Workshop Pt.1 Apr. 16th - Interview Workshop Pt.2 Apr. 17th - How to Crotchet Apr. 19th - Self-Defense Workshop Apr. 20th - First Aid Crash Course Apr. 26th - Financial Literacy Pt.3 We have our meetings in the College and Career Center every Monday and Friday at lunch. Key members of the team became leaders and we also held Leadership meetings on Tuesdays at lunch to plan and to assign tasks to members. Throughout the year, the A.I.T. team met together 5 times outside of school.
